Openshop is looking for a Junior Designer to join our team in New York. The role will require an independent thinker, a curious mind and a candidate with initiative. We are looking for someone who is interested in growing into a role and stepping up to exciting opportunities.

Strategic Design - Experience Design - Industrial Design - Brand Strategy

On any given day you might...

  • Assist designers in developing material and putting together client presentations

  • Ideate solutions for challenges in both the built and non-built environments

  • Produce simple renderings

  • Set up and develop architectural drawing sets

  • Support lead designers on deck design & delivery

  • Pull together interior design decks and guides

  • Order relevant samples and materials to the office

  • Attend in person site meetings

The ideal person...

  • Takes initiative and can make complete tasks independently

  • Has experience creating clean and beautiful decks and visual design

  • Has the ability to quickly ideate and iterate

  • Provides regular status updates on continuing works

  • Is eager to learn and work with a multidisciplinary team

  • Has an interest in design strategy

  • MUST be based in NYC

You must have...

  • An interest or background in design

  • Experience - 1 - 3 years in a studio environment or similar

  • Autocad, basic 3D modeling - Sketchup / Rhino / 3D Max

  • Adobe - Photoshop, Illustrator or inDesign
